Natural Park of Penon de Ifach. A symbol of the Costa Blanca, it rises in sea and limestone of about 50,000 m2 to 332 m and 1 km in length. It is united by a narrow isthmus, the result of a landslide from nearby Sierra de Olta and one of the greatest features of its uniqueness and beauty, not only in Valencia, but the entire Mediterranean coast.

It is a meeting point for climbers and scuba divers from around the world to assert their strength in continuing to challenge the nature of its walls and depths.

The Salinas. The Salinas de Calpe occupy a depression filled by Quaternary alluvial deposits. This is a lake home generated from the development of a dual restinga. The position of the Rock of Ifach was a decisive factor in the formation of this interesting wetland.

In the restinga area of the bay of Calpe are dug ponds for factory fishing in Baths Queen. The vegetation of this ecosystem is adapted to withstand high concentrations of saline soil and water.

The main features of these halophilic species that occupy a large part of the margins of the salt is the formation of fat-containing leaves in its interior water, with a high concentration of salt to absorb water from the soil…

The fauna in the area is composed mainly by migratory birds using this as a resting place and supply of food resources they need during periods of migration. Moreover, it enhances the importance of salt as a wetland in an area whose climate presents an important period of summer drought.
