Church of the Assumption: Valencian Baroque, 18th century.

Church of San Antonio: 16th and 17th centuries; remodeled in the 18th century.

Church and Convent of Our Lady of Loreto: 16th century; founded by the Discalced Augustinian nuns in 1604.

Museums:

Archaeological Museum: Recalls the history of the city from its origins to the 18th-century Iberians. It is located in Denia Castle.

Ethnology Museum: Dianense who were devoted to the 19th-century trades.

Toy Museum: Sample of the toy industry in Denia from 1904 until 1960.

Art Center Station: Located in the cultural center and shows temporary exhibitions.

Sites:

The Almadraba: Roman maritime villa typical of the fourth century AD.

The high Benimaquia: Full and archaic Iberian settlement (sixth century to the third century BC), located in the Montgo.

Pic de l’Aguila: Iberian settlement (fourth century BC to first century AD) located in the Montgo.

Hermitages of the Conquest

San Juan: Historic-artistic monument.

Santa Paula

Saint Lucia: 15th century.

The city is in a natural harbor or bay at the foot of the Montgo and houses old districts such as the de les Roques and the Baix la Mar. Coming down the streets of the castle remind us of the past, of the Arabic trade that brought the city to modernism. The most interesting museums and monuments are:

Baix Sea District: Fishermen’s old neighborhood.

Les Roques Neighborhood: Next to the castle.

Calle del Marques de Campo: It is one of the main streets and the commercial center of the city.

Fortified House: Declared of cultural interest (BIC).

Caseta of Pare Pere (Father Peter): Example of rural architecture of the 17th century.

Cuisine and Fiestas

Rice, fish, and seafood, especially the world-famous red boiled shrimp. The seafood casserole (suquet), cakes, espencat, garlic sauce, llandeta, dried octopus, shrimp with spinach, etc. The mistelle and raisins are the basis of an excellent cuisine, which adds citrus.

As for the festivities, there are Fallas, Bonfires of San Juan, Moors and Christians, and Bous a la Mar.

The Castle: Built on a hill by the Moors. It has been municipal property since 1952 and is part of the Archaeological Museum, as it is an important piece of the local history. It has been rehabilitated and is now visited all year round.

Walls: Some sections are kept in good condition.

Towers

Tower of Almadraba (or Palm): Suffered a controversial restoration.

Tower Gerre (Vase): Watchtower with a truncated cone shape, which is the reason for its name (vase). It emphasizes the arms of Charles I from the 16th century.

Tower Carrals: Strong set of defensive buildings that are now privately owned.
