One of the articles of the Municipal Ordinance of solar is about protecting the landscape and forcing people to take measures to mitigate as much as possible the visual impact of solar panels, getting the proper integration into the landscape.

On the other hand, there is a draft for the new streetlights installed in the city that will be working with solar energy. Canopies with solar panels on roofs for lighting at night without the consumption of electric power network are being installed.

Murcia has a Local Agency for Energy and Climate Change. As part of efforts exerted by the Agency, the city will develop the Local Strategy Against Climate Change within the municipality.

The new solar Municipal Ordinance provides that new buildings—those buildings that are rehabilitated and newly constructed—with swimming pools or those with a water heating system are obligated to produce the hot water from solar energy and, as a novelty, also include a low trade, something that does not include the Technical Building Code.
